Street vendor hands in wallet containing 3,000 euros in cash

A NIGERIAN man who scrapes a paltry living selling packets of tissues on the streets of Sevilla handed in a wallet he found containing over 3,000 euros.

He saw from a distance how a man put his wallet on top of his parked car and, forgetting it was there, got in and drove off, causing it to fall onto the road.

The tissue-seller opened it and found two envelopes, one containing 3,150 euros in cash and the other full of cheques to the value of 13,000 euros, plus ID documents.

He flagged down a passing National Police car and gave it to them.

They later contacted the owner after identifying him as a 42-year-old local man and returned it to him.

The wallet's owner says he intends to find the tissue-seller and thank him personally for his admirable honesty and community spirit.
