A BRITISH holidaymaker has died in a fall from a second-floor apartment in Tenerife.

The 43-year-old was staying at the tourist resort on the Avenida de Bruselas on the Playa de las Américas (pictured), which belongs to the municipality of Adeje.

Emergency services were called out at around 03.00hrs on Thursday morning, told that a man was badly injured on the street after plummeting out of an apartment two storeys up.

Paramedics rushed to the scene, but the man had already died from his wounds, thought to be within seconds of landing.

National Police have opened an inquiry, and the British Consulate has been informed.

The deceased's identity has not been revealed.
