FIREFIGHTERS in El Ejido (Almería province) rescued a man trapped in a rubbish collection lorry this morning (Monday).
He was inside a wheelie-bin for reasons that have not been clarified, and landed in the refuse lorry when the bin was picked up and overturned in the back of it.
This was at around 01.00 this morning in the tied hamlet of Santa María del Águila, which belongs to El Ejido.
Rubbish collectors rang the 112 emergency hotline and police, firefighters and an ambulance rushed to the scene.
The victim was taken to Almería's Poniente Hospital with several fractures in his leg.
