PNV take the Basque Country

Nationalist party PNV, led by Josu Jon Imaz (pictured) won the elections in the Basque Country with an increase of three percent in the number of votes (seven seats). The PSE-EE-PSOE achieved four points more than in the last elections (seven seats), giving the party second place, and the PP sank to third place, after losing almost 10 points in comparison to the 2000 elections (four seats). Eusko Alkartasuna keeps its one seat, whereas IU/EB have not achieved a single seat in the parliament.
