A cargo train and an Alaris passenger train from Madrid carrying 140 passengers were both derailed yesterday near Valencia, but nobody was injured. The incident occurred at 11.15am outside Alfafar-Benetússer station when the cargo train was derailed causing it to shed several of the containers of car parts it was carrying.  The incoming Alaris clipped one of them causing it to also come off the rails. The train´s 140 passengers were transferred to Valencia by coach. Traffic was cut until 5pm yesterday and so RENFE also had to organise coach transport for the 1,200 passengers scheduled to leave on the ten main line and various regional and local services departures affected.
