| The British Motorshow is now a whole new experience. For the last few years the British Motorshow lost favour with the car manufacturers, fighting back it is now a show to be proud of and car manufacturers are eager to show their new cars. If you are interested in buying a car, there’s an opportunity to test drive several manufacturer’s models at the 'Taster Test' section. You’ll either get the chance to get behind the wheel or be driven around a course by a manufacturer’s representative. All you need to do is bring your driving license (including the paper bit) and you can try out your chosen model. There’s no additional charge over the standard admission ticket and cars from Daihatsu, Honda, Hyundai, MG Rover, Nissan, Subaru and Vauxhall will all be part of this unique experience. Visit the Live Action Arena to watch the professionals in action. With a dramatic themed driving show taking cars to and beyond their limits, this show will blow your mind. It takes place in a 4000-seat outdoor stadium and there are four shows a day with tickets costing £6 over the standard entry ticket. 4x4 Experience Thrill seekers can get an insight into just how capable modern off-roaders are at the 4x4 Experience. This 72-acre site will challenge the vehicles with steep ravines and gullies, terrifying climbs and deep water too, all under the instruction of highly-experienced off-road drivers. If you’ve got a spirit for adventure and want to see 4x4s in their natural environment, then the 4x4 Experience is where you should head. It’s all available at no extra cost.
Driving School At this year's British Motorshow, younger drivers can get a chance to drive at the BSM Driving School. Instructors in dual-control cars, will accompany your drive around a specially designed circuit. A special treat for drivers as young as 14, they to can have a go (drivers aged 14-15 need a parent’s signature of approval). All you need to bring along is proof of your age and identity.
Mini Open Air Theatre To been seen is Mini’s striking 'Open Air Theatre' driving show! You’ll see Mini’s being driven with amazing precision, doing dare devil stunts and there's also an opportunity to see this summer’s must-have car; the Mini Cabriolet. Mini’s amazing stunt show is free with a general admission ticket and if you’re a Mini owner there’s even a special viewing area reserved especially for you. Running every hour this show promises to be a blast.
Other Attractions Ford’s stand will celebrate its involvement with the forthcoming Thunderbirds film. Expect to see a Pink Ford Streetka and Ford Thunderbird (of course) along with a stand that’s decked out with International Rescue’s equipment to ensure that Ford’s little exhibition won’t be forgotten in a hurry. Since Thunderbird's first introduction in 1954, the car has been an American cultural icon.
Show Debuts Alongside all these events and activities, the Motor Show will also play host to a number of British debuts and a few world firsts. Land Rover’s all-new Discovery diesel and the Renault’s Modus will get their world debuts, whilst the Audi A6, the Skoda Octavia, Hyundai’s Tucson 4x4 and Ford’s Fiesta ST will all be shown for the first time in the UK. McLaren-Mercedes SLR and the new Ferrari 612 Scaglietta. And don't worry Aston Martin fans, you haven't been left out. One car that is definitely worth seeing at the British Motorshow.
