Two extra doctors the regional health authority promised Xàbia do not want to come because of the high cost of renting a house in the town. The doctors are demanding financial help in order to move to the town. Prices rise even more in the summer along with the number of emergencies as the population shoots up from 60,000 to 150,000. There are now only two doctors to deal with over 80,000 un-registered patients.
