The Vall de Pop restaurant set in the beautiful and peaceful area of Lliber was filled with a buzz of excitement as on Wednesday July 28, the Jalon Valley ladies held their end of year summer party.
Jacqui Bevan has been running this club for nearly two years now; having moved to Jalon and not knowing many people decided that something needed to be done, so a notice was placed in the local shop asking ladies would they care to join her on a monthly basis for a cup of tea!
Credit has to be given to Jacqui for all the hard work it takes to run a club and bring the relaxed feeling that you are only there to enjoy yourself, and have as much fun as possible. Jacqui now has an excellent committee to help her, these ladies Julie Gallie, Irene Turvey, Betty Wood, Jean Preston, put in a lot of hard as the club now has  over a 150 ladies, all coming from surrounding areas, joining up every month to catch up with the latest news and to prepare plans for a variety of outings to take place during the year.
Meeting many of the ladies they talked with great emphasis of how the club has improved their lives. Many said how they had made good friends and was now out and about joining in the fun and not sitting at home watching the TV. One bunch of ladies said, that they had become friends through this group and that they partially enjoyed making birthday cards, so they now meet up on a regular basis to participate with this craft as well.
