Pego golf and housing

Pego council has approved the construction of 1,300 houses and a golf course between the Penya Roja and the town centre. The project will affect 1.8 million square metres of protected land, which will have to be reclassified as a building area. However, two projects for another 5,000 houses were turned down. This decision was taken with the votes in favour of the local PSOE and PP parties.
