| 32 year old Angel Vacas, who ran for Navalmoral Athletics Club, died in his sleep on Tueday night at the age of 32.
A club spokesman mourned the death of an athlete who has been a key member of the cross country team. Angel´s three older brothers -Anselmo, Ildefonso and Benjamín- also used to run long distance for the club.
Angel was trained by César Andrade and regularly selected to represent Extremadura. The president of Navalmoral Athletics Club Víctor Luengo said that "it is rare to find anyone more modest or down-to-earth, he was a good man."
The funeral was held at 11am yesterday morning at the Las Angustias church in Navalmoral de la Mata.
