A 22 year old lesbian was arrested yesterday in Vigo for attacking her girlfriend with a knife at the flat they shared on the calle Manuel Núñez, and inflicting knife wounds to the wrist of one of the two arresting officers.

It seems that the assailant, who is from the village of Bueu (Pontevedra), had been out with friends, but got into an argument when she got home at around 9am, when her partner reproached her for drinking and smoking drugs instead of taking the medicine prescribed by her psychiatrist.

The victim managed to escape into the street after sustaining cuts to her forearm and raised the alarm. After the arrest, which was executed shortly after 10am, the woman was taken to Vigo's Xeral Hospital for an urgent psychiatric assessment.
