La Rioja MP José Antonio Ulecia confirmed today that a small explosion outside the "Rioja Alta" bodega in the town of Haro at 5.20am last Sunday morning, originally thought to have been caused by a gas leak, was actually an ETA bomb.

It was initially thought that the gas leak had occurred in the kitchens of one of the oldest and best known bodegas in the region, until a telephone call was received at the offices of the Gara Basque daily newspaper at around 5.30pm yesterday, to claim responsibility for the explosion in the name of ETA.

Remains of a leaflet written in Basque, on which the ETA logo could be distinguished, were found at the scene.
