Salary: €1,350 gross per month plus possible extras
The Role
Teach English classes to 1-15 year old children in small groups of max 8 students. Conduct follow-up assessments of students (attendance, grades, homework and test corrections, reports, etc.), fill in online forms at the end of each term and perform other center-related tasks. We expect teachers to be flexible and to enthusiastically participate in all of the school’s varied activities.
We are looking for sociable people who are dedicated to the teaching profession and who feel passionate about children: people who are dynamic, involved, fun, and motivated by their work to join our friendly, supportive team in the wonderful Basque Country.
Classes usually start around 13:00 or 13:30 and finish around 20:00 or 20:30. There are periods of inactivity during the working day.
Lessons are done in-person at the center, which means you do not have to travel from one location to another, as is the case with in-company classes.
What We Offer?
• 10 month-minimum commitment. Renewable contract from September 1st, 2022 to June 23rd, 2023.
• €450 deposit, to be returned after completing the first 30 days of the contract
• 21 teaching hours + 4 in-person aide/advisory hours per week
• Possibility of contract extension through summer and renewal for the 2023-24 academic year.
• Salary: €1,350 gross per month plus possible extras
• Holiday: paid holiday is accrued at 2.5 days per calendar month worked plus paid Christmas, Easter, local and national holidays.
• Legal contract, social security and health coverage.
• Working permission – Assistance to get the Spanish national identification number and other documents needed to work and live in Spain.
• Accommodation: we provide optional shared accommodation close to the school (average monthly rent in a 3- roomed flat: €250 + utilities per person).
• Transfer: we pick the teacher up from the Bilbao airport and take you to your flat.
• Top quality lesson plans and materials are provided.
• Initial and ongoing training
Requirements
• Native or native level English speaking teachers (C2 level minimum).
• Candidates must have EU citizenship, TIE, or working visa.
• Proof of criminal record check
• Experience is not essential: candidates who have prior teaching experience, as well as an affinity for communicating and working with children, will be given consideration.
