The Main House
Set in a beautiful valley, the house at La Murta has amazing flexibility with 3 reception rooms downstairs, two of which could be used as stand-alone accommodation with kitchen and bathroom facilities.
The main reception room has a beautiful hand made oak kitchen, with a stylish oak spiral staircase leading upstairs. The master bedroom has two large windows with beautiful mountain views, along with an en-suite toilet and a bathroom with a large double ended bath. Two further bedrooms, a landing and a store room are also on the upper floor.
The chalets brings an enormous amount of flexibility to the property, enabling family members and friends to visit or live while retaining their independence, or to form the basis of an accommodation based business.
The first chalet is 22m2 and nestles under the olive trees. They has a toilet and shower room, an open plan living and kitchen area, and a cosy mezzanine bedroom above. Outside there is a large, very shady patio area and lovely views of the mountains and valley below.
The second chalet is approx 30m2 and is located further away from the main house high up on a rocky outcrop with the most beautiful views down the valley.
The property is available part furnished. There are plenty of tables, chairs and sofas etc but you will need to supply the majority of the beds you require yourselves. If you are new to the area, there are many good value new and second hand furniture stores we can point you towards!
The olive grove consists of around 80 trees over 6 terraces with a small fruit garden.
The 7.5 x 4m pool is built in the same style as the olive grove terraces and give the feeling of complete freedom being set right in the centre of the surrounding mountains.
The property is set away from all roads and other houses, and is accessed down a 200m concrete track which is quite narrow, and as you approach the property is also quite steep (but very beautiful!). Therefore you will need to own a small car to bring it down to the property, and having one which is 4x4 would be an advantage. There is space to park two cars at the top of the track, and up to three cars at the property.
The property is in the perfect location for getting away from it all while still having easy access to the coastal and shopping areas, which are only 30 minutes drive away. The Tarbena area is a calm and tranquil haven where you will find a warm and friendly welcome from the locals, beautiful mountain walks and cycle routes, and a vibrant international community on your doorstep. As we sit writing this in the house, we are accompanied by the most beautiful and varied bird song which fills the valley around us!
All of the properties have mains water and electricity, septic tank drainage, and bottled gas is used for cooking and heating. Solar heated hot water is also available at the main house. A radio based internet connection is available which is generally very reliable and is fast enough to allow for video conferencing and use of Youtube as well as normal web browsing.
Rental and Availability
The rental price is 1,100€ per month and the property will be available two months after we sign the rental agreement.
