Galicia is ablaze with fires in O Barco and Rubiá, although the mayor of the former has called for calm as the flames appear to be under control – after having wiped out 1,200 hectares.
Around 300 hectares have been reduced to ashes in the Doñana national park in the province of Cádiz, while other major infernos have had firefighters working around the clock in the province of Guadalajara, and in Montellano (Sevilla).
Two other forest fires broke out in the province of Alicante this week, in the La Torre de les Maçanes area just outside Alicante city, and another in Llíber which is now under control and no flames are now seen.
