The International Airlines Group (IAG) - which was formed by the merger of Spain's Iberia and British Airways - said on Wednesday it was studying the possibility of launching a full takeover bid of Spanish low-cost airline Vueling.
In a statement to the Spanish stock market regulator, IAG said it has not yet discussed specific terms or price of a possible deal, but that the topic was on the agenda for Thursday's board meeting.
"No decision about whether an takeover bid will be launched has been taken as yet, and therefore, obviously, there has been no talk about terms of the deal, nor, in particular, about the price", the company said in its press statement.
As soon as a decision is made, a statement will be released to the press, the company confirmed.
