Spain romped to a 5-1 win over Panama last night, with Pedro bagging a brace and David Villa, Sergio Ramos and Markel Susaeta all getting on the scoresheet.
The world and European champions were 3-0 up by half-time after Andrés Iniesta had set up both Pedro and Villa to knock in easy goals then Pedro produced an excellent dummy past the goalie for his fifth goal in his last three internationals.
Ramos then blasted in a fabulous free-kick nine minutes from time and new boy Susaeta completed the scoring for the visitors with an easy finish from Jesus Navas' cut-back.
The home fans got something to cheer about three minutes from the end however, as Gabriel Gómez slotted a penalty past Casilas, who had come on to replace Valdés, after Cesc Fàbregas had tripped Nelson Barahona.
Facing a side ranked 46 in the world, Vicente del Bosque had taken the opportunity to leave some of his older players like Xavi and Xabi Alonso back home, but still fielded a side that contained eight of the squad that won the European Championships in the summer.
Villa, scoring his 53rd international goal for Spain, was captain for the evening as Iker Casillas started on the bench.
