Gale-force winds and torrential rain until at least Wednesday

TORRENTIAL rain, high winds and snow are expected to continue across Spain until at least Wednesday, with the Canary Islands and the north and centre of the country on amber warnings.

Snow is predicted in areas of 600 metres above sea-level and higher, whilst the east and north-east coasts could see gale-force winds on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Despite the heavy rain yesterday (Monday) evening, Tuesday and Wednesday are expected to see light rainfall throughout the country except in the Balearics and Catalunya, where downpours could occur.

Temperatures will drop throughout Spain due to a polar wind coming down from the north and may continue to fall slightly throughout the rest of the week.
