Two men have died in a head-on collision on the TF-1 in Tenerife after one of them, a Frenchman, drove the wrong way down the motorway.
The accident happened at 05.04 hours on June 21st at km 37 of the motorway, close to the town of Arico.
Emergency services received a number of calls reporting the driver going in the wrong direction on the motorway, and later reporting the crash.
Paramedics despatched to the scene were only able to confirm the deaths of the occupants of the two vehicules involved, M.R.J.D., a 34-year-old Frenchman, who was driving his BMW 330 in the wrong direction down the TF-1 motorway, and 33-year-old J.J.D.D., of Spanish nationality, whose Renault Kangoo was hit head on by the BMW shortly after five o'clock on Wednesday morning.
Both bodies had to be cut from their vehicules by fire fighters. Officers from the Civil Guard are handling the case.
