Shark shuts Mallorca beach
28/06/2017
A SHARK appearing on the shore at a beach near Magaluf forced lifeguards to evacuate the sea at the weekend, emergency services have just reported.
The Blue Shark was described as being eight feet (2.4 metres) long and had washed up alive on Les Illetes beach, which belongs to the larger inland town of Calvià.
Bathers were in no danger, as the creature had injured its head.
It is thought to have been so badly hurt it had to be put to sleep on site.
