Dad leaves son, 4, in double-parked car to go to brothel

A SEVILLA father has been arrested after leaving his four-year-old son overnight in his illegally double-parked car to go to a partner-swapping club, Local Police reveal.
The accused, 40, was said to be very drunk when he was caught and handcuffed at 01.50 this morning (Sunday) in Dos Hermanas, close to the southern Spanish city.
Officers received a call at about 22.45 last night (Saturday) from a disgruntled resident who could not get his car out as another was double-parked and blocking him in.
Police were expecting a routine case of having to arrange for a car to be towed away and a parking ticket slapped on the owner, but when they reached the scene, they found the vehicle unlocked.
Inside, a small child was crying and shouting that he was freezing cold.
National Police arrived and, between them, comforted the tot and warmed him up.
Checking the registration number records, they found the car belonged to a local man of around 40 who appeared to have exited the vehicle in a hurry.
Officers asked around in local shops and bars and, finding no useful information in any of them, as a last resort asked at a nearby wife-swapping club.
Staff confirmed the car-owner had made a payment there recently with his credit card.
Police found him there just before 02.00 and said he was 'blind drunk'.
He was charged with child neglect – although his arrest also prevented him committing a second criminal offence of drink-driving, since it was clear he had intended to drive home with his child in the back despite his inebriated state.
The accused gave police the phone number of his partner, who is the child's mother, and officers returned the four-year-old to her.
A fast-track hearing is due for next week, and the mother has been asked if she wants to press charges on a personal level.
Even if she does not, the father will still face criminal action for his behaviour.
