Iniesta welcomes fourth child with wife Anna Ortiz
21/06/2019
FORMER FC Barcelona midfielder Andrés Iniesta has become a dad for the fourth time, surprising fans worldwide who had no idea his wife of seven years, Anna Ortiz, was even pregnant.
“Welcome, Romeo! Wonderful day! He and mum are feeling great!” Iniesta wrote on Instagram last night (Thursday), captioning a photograph of his new baby son's feet.
The post has already gone viral and attracted over 300,000 'likes'.
FC Barcelona has published its congratulations on social media for one of the club's star players, who left in May 2018 after 22 years with the premier league team to sign up for Japanese 'J-League' side, Vissel Kobe.
At the time of his announced departure from Barça, Iniesta said: “This is a decision that has been carefully meditated and thought through by me and with my family.
“I believe that after 22 years here [with Barça], I know what it means to play for this team, which for me is the best team in the world […] being honest, I realise my time [here] will be up this year. I wouldn't be able to give the best of myself, mentally and physically.”
Baby Romeo has two sisters, Valeria and Siena, and a brother, Paolo, the latter two of whom were born to Iniesta and Ortiz since their marriage in 2012, at which time their daughter Valeria was 15 months old.
