Real Madrid have paid €27 million for 19 year old, Sevilla central defender, Sergio Ramos (photo, right), who has signed an eight year contract.
The player's brother, René Ramos and his other representative, Pedro Bravo, arrived at the headquarters of the Professional Football League (LFP) to hand over the required paperwork just before the final deadline at midnight.
The Ramos family is already in Madrid, where Sergio is training with the national side ahead of a friendly against Canada on Saturday and next week's crucial World Cup qualifier against Serbia Montenegro.
The €20 million from Michael Owen's sale to Newcastle Utd. facilitated the deal, which was agreed between the two parties during meeting's earlier yesterday evening.
Ramos is the only Spanish player signed by club president Florentino Pérez since his election five years ago. Among the foreign stars Pérez has enticed to Real Madrid are; Luis Figo, Ronaldo, Beckham, Owen (photo, left), Baptista and Robinho.
