Nadia Nerea Blanco Garau is currently living with a maternal aunt as her father, Fernando Blanco remains in custody – although her mother Marga Garau has been released with charges - suspected of having spent thousands of euros donated via Facebook to pay for personal expenses, including their rent, and not having used it for their daughter's treatment.
Fernando Blanco allegedly took Nadia to fake healers in the USA and possibly Afghanistan.
Now, the Mossos d'Esquadra – Catalunya's answer to the Guardia Civil – say they have found a USB pen drive belonging to Nadia's father with 'images of a sexual nature' which centre on his daughter.
They have not revealed the full details, so it is not known whether the drive contains videos, photographs or both, and they have not given information as to what exactly was in them.
Officers call the finding 'inexplicable' and 'incomprehensible', and the magistrate in charge of the case was due to ask the parents for their side of the story.
The court says the onus will be on Nadia's parents to justify the images, since they may be facing additional action for creating child porn, as well as exhibitionism and sexual abuse.
