'Balconing' fall leaves Ibiza tourist, 27, paraplegic
07/07/2017
A 'BALCONING' incident in Ibiza has left a 27-year-old man paralysed from the waist down at least, and it is not known whether he will recover.
The nationality of the tourist in question has not been revealed, although the foolhardy stunt of jumping from a hotel balcony to try to land in the swimming pool below is normally practised by northern Europeans, mostly Brits, after a night's drinking.
The holidaymaker in question was staying at the Hotel Piscis in Sant Antoni de Portmany (San Antonio) and jumped off the first-floor terrace at around 06.10 this morning (Friday).
He survived, but with severe spinal injuries, and was rushed to Can Misses Hospital in Ibiza town.
His name has not been revealed, as it is not known whether his family has been informed.
