One day left for Harry Potter exhibition in Valencia – and tickets still on sale
10/08/2019
THE official Harry Potter exhibition which has been touring the globe for a decade has been set up in Valencia’s City of Arts and Sciences since April 13 – and tomorrow (Sunday, August 11) is its last day.
But, unbelievably, tickets are still on sale, meaning if you are in the area, you can grab one for any of the time slots – set at half-hour intervals with the last being at 19.30 – except for 11.00, the only one which is sold out.
Costing €21 for adults and children over 12, or €16.90 a head for a ‘family pack’ and with other prices starting from €13.90, the exhibition is exceptionally good value given that it is huge, international affair and includes all the original props from the seven-part film series.
You can rent an audio-guide, for €6, set in one of several languages, if you’re not familiar with – or have forgotten – most of the storyline, and to give you extra and fascinating information about the making of the films.
It will hold massive appeal for those who have never seen the films but have read the books, too, since the on-screen productions were very faithful to the original text and author J. K. Rowling took an active part in their creation.
On entry, you’ll try on the ‘sorting hat’ to see whether you end up in Harry’s virtuous house, Gryffindor, or the dark, sinister but brilliant Slytherin, whose leader, Professor Severus Snape, was played by the late Alan Rickman (of Love, Actually fame) in the films.
You can also join a potions class and a herbology lesson and have a go at Quidditch, which is Hogwarts School for Witches and Wizards’ most popular game in PE and the magical world’s answer to football.
Visitors can explore the scenes of some of the greatest action in the books and films – the Gryffindor common room and dormitory, the terrifying Forbidden Forest, and the hut where friendly half-giant Hagrid, played by Robbie Coltrane in the films, lives and entertains Harry and his friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley when they are not in class.
Entries can be bought online at https://tickets.harrypotterexhibition.es or by going into harrypotterexhibition.com, payable by debit or credit card.
