Calas de Mallorca is located on the eastern coast, roughly halfway between the two towns of Porto Cristo and Portocolom. The town center sits on a limestone rock formation, carved with a large number of sea-level caves.

The city’s infrastructure is mainly oriented towards tourism. There are several hotel and apartment complexes, as well as individual holiday homes and apartments. The center of Calas de Mallorca is affectionately known as the "Shopping Center."
This is the part of the town that offers a wide range of entertainment with various bars and restaurants, shops and leisure activities such as mini-golf.

The town’s administrative center offers public services such as the post office, local police station, tourist information office and medical clinic.

With Cala Domingo Gran, Cala Domingo Petits and Cala Antena, the village has a total of three large sandy bays, which also gave the village its name. The three bays are known for the excellent quality of their bathing waters. A well-paved coastal path connects Cala Domingo Gran with Cala Antena.

The whole area is considered the richest in caves in Mallorca and is a popular area for snorkeling and scuba diving. However, most of the caves in this area have not yet been explored.

The season in Calas de Mallorca usually begins in April and ends in October. Most hotels, restaurants and shops close during the winter months. You can find everything you need for daily needs in Portocolom, Porto Cristo or Manacor, about 20 minutes by car.

The airport is about 60 kilometers away and is easily accessible by the motorway between Manacor and Palma.
