Description
Huge feel-good finca with 25,000m2 south-facing slope and a breathtaking view over Betancuria.
In addition to the fully renovated and furnished, ready-to-move-in 366sqm main house there is a 120m2 workshop / hall, a former 5 m high water tank that offers a lot of space. This is the largest contiguous finca in Betancurias with approx. 25,000m2 of land, asphalt driveway, countless trees, palm trees and terraced gardens, located directly above the historic village of Betancuria. Whether from the terrace, the living room or the garden, here you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views over the village as well as the valley and the mountains of Betancuria without being seen yourself. There are several parking spaces in front of the walled property. There are additional parking spaces behind the entrance gate in the protected interior area and on the land just behind the second entrance to the finca. The finca is mostly fenced and located on a very protected southern slope.
At the upper end of the lovingly prepared property with many paved gardens, private paths and its own spring, there is another large water reservoir that can still be renovated. This finca is ideal for self-sufficient people due to the large cultivation areas, many fruit trees, a newly created raised garden, a large chicken coop, its own spring with water storage, several water tanks and the fully automatic irrigation system.
The main house, which was lovingly refurbished and developed between 2018 and 2021 to a high standard, offers five bedrooms, three bathrooms as well as a guest toilet with an outdoor shower, two kitchens, a large, bright living room with fireplace and panoramic view over Betancuria, a dining-living room on the ground floor with a protected Terrace including pergola in front, as well as a large staircase, pantry and many extras. The roof has also been repaired so that the top floor, which is currently only used as storage space, can also be developed if wished. The opening in the ceiling has already been made so that stairs can be built up to the third floor inside of the house.
The owners tried to preserve as many details as possible of the original finca or to integrate them into the interior design.
The extremely solidly built building was built in 1985 by a wealthy Spanish lawyer and was only used as a holiday home by his heirs until 2017. The current owners immediately fell in love with this finca and developed it to a high standard, investing a lot of money. New double-glazed aluminum windows were installed, a new water installation, new fittings and accessories, massive wooden doors, a large electric roller shutter in the lower living room with direct exit to the large garden terrace, new kitchen, new bathrooms, many new tiles but also artistic mosaics, etc. Apart from the high-quality real leather sofa, the finca is only equipped with untreated natural massive wood furniture to create a pleasant living environment. As you can see in the photos, the finca is full of elaborated details that create a great living environment and make life more pleasant.
In addition to the three new large refrigerators, the finca also comes with a large freezer, a washing machine, dishwasher and four smart TVs.
This property is connected to the public water supply of the municipal utilities as well as to the finca’s own spring. In the attic there is a 1,000l storage tank, in the workshop there is another bricked water storage tank with 5,000l, under the spring is a bricked 3,000l storage tank and in the garden are several new water barrels for a further 4,000l water supply. The large water reservoir on the upper part of the property is recorded in the cadastre as a 19m2 apartment, and thus still offers a lot of development potential. Above that there is a small dam which also belongs to this finca and in which the rainwater collects when it rains here, which however only rarely occurs on the sunny Fuerteventura. Next to the chicken coop is the domestic waterworks with the water filters and the control of the water supply and the pouring system, as well as a small wood store. The owners have not only trimmed all the trees and palmtrees on the 25,000m2 plot, but also re-attached and repaired the old paths of the finca, so that all parts of the property can be easily reached with the electric vehicle that is includet in this offer. But they have also cleared and cleaned the spring, planted more fruit trees and created fields for the vegetable garden. The hot water is supplied by a new large solar system. Contrary to expectations, the finca is already connected to the public sewer system of Betancuria, which is currently still free, as the community needs the clarified water to pour the public green areas.
The property is also connected to the public grid. Just a vew weeks ago the new fiber optic network has been installed in the area, which enables at least 600 Mbit high-speed internet, if wished. However, the owners are currently still using the Internet via WiFi or 4G, as the antennas on the opposite mountain are within sight.
For their dogs, they have fenced in the closer garden area around the main house with rigid fence elements, as well as the large chicken coop, in which the happy chickens can only feel comfortable.
Betancuria is the oldest village in the Canary Islands, and therefore Villa Historica, as it was here that the Spanish Crown began to conquer the Canary Islands. Betancuria is not only known for its beautiful historical village, but also for the large church of Santa Maria and the first monastery in the Canary Islands. At the lower end of Betancuria, a dust road goes left into the only forest of Fuerteventura, where there are also public barbecue areas and a children's playground.
Betancuria itself lives from the tourists who invade the historic village in droves during the day, visit the old town, eat tapas in the many bars and cafes and buy souvenirs. In the afternoon, when the tourists are on their way home to the tourist centers, absolute calm returns to Betancuria, the locals return from their workplaces and village life begins.
Down the valley, passing a valley full of palm trees and old fincas you reach to Vega de Rio Palmas and next to Pajara. Up the valley the mainroad goes over the pass with the oversized bronze statues of the two kings of Fuerteventura, direction Antigua or Valle de Santa Inés.
This feel-good finca in an extraordnary and unique location is offered fully furnished and ready to move in, as the owners want to move to the mainland Spain for family reasons.
As official Expertos Inmobiliarios No. 2064, we can also offer you the entire purchase process for the finca if required.
