Old rectory house, dated 1573, fully restored, located in the small town of Rasgada, a privileged place, among mountains and pine forests, in a quiet environment without tourist crowds. House with great historical and artistic value, built with original carved stone. High-quality materials have been used in the restoration, such as an interior oak staircase, thermal insulation, diesel boiler, pre-installation for solar panels, cast iron French fireplace, etc. The house is distributed on the ground floor with a living room, kitchen, one bedroom, full bathroom, covered porch, and interior garden. The first floor has three bedrooms with bathrooms, and a glazed gallery with spectacular views. The attic includes a bedroom area, bathroom, and solarium terrace. The property also has a garage. Excellent location in a natural setting an hour from Santander or Burgos, and three hours from Madrid. We are facing a splendid restoration with the last details pending to be personalized to the taste of the new owner, all included in the price. The ground floor has been designed to adapt its use for a person with a disability or reduced mobility.

About Rasgada. The town of Rasgada is located in the northwest area of the municipality of Valderrible, just one kilometer from the right bank of the Ebro River. It is accessed via the CA-272 road (connection with Pozazal), taking the detour that also ascends towards Navamuel, 5 km from Villanueva de la Nía. The settlement is situated at an altitude of 840 m, framed in a forest landscape, with underbrush and dense clusters of oak trees around. Its name seems to relate to the very rugged topography, as on the way up to the village we find a fractured and somewhat steep relief. It is documented in the Cartulary of the Monastery of Santa María de Aguilar de Campoo, in various documents dated 1275 and 1276, where Rasgada is included among the estates of Valderredible that are handed over to the aforementioned Monastery. In the Becerro Book of Behetrías (1352) it appears as Resgada. Two architectural elements stand out, namely the parish church of San Miguel, an architectural ensemble from the 16th century although of Romanesque origin, and a strong tower from the 17th century. Near the village, a few hundred meters to the NE, was the hermitage of Santa María de la Torre, which had a chaplaincy with its annexed houses. In this disappeared hermitage-chaplaincy, the plaque and ecclesiastical shield, both from the year 1605, are preserved. The mill of Rasgada is located about 200 m up the old cart road that leads from the Ebro River (and the CA-272 road) to the village. It is documented both in the Ensenada Cadastre (1752) and in the Dictionary of Pascual Madoz (1850). Both the house and the surrounding area are well preserved. There was another earlier mill, called Molinviejo, located in the stream of the same name. Unlike the mill of Rasgada, it was only temporary, being able to grind only in rainy seasons. Other heritage elements of interest include a small necropolis with noble tombs located near the aforementioned mill of Rasgada (from the medieval period, with no precise dating), the municipal forge, and the old school, currently reused as a social center.
