Villajoyosa is located 32 km northeast of the city of Alicante. It is the capital of the Marina Baja comarca. The Amadorio River runs through the urban area of Villajoyosa, originating from the reservoir of the same name: Embalse del Amadorio. The municipality has 15 km of coastline. From Alicante, this town can be accessed via the AP-7 or the N-332. The metropolitan tram of Alicante (formerly the Marina train of FGV) that runs from Alicante to Denia has a stop in Villajoyosa as an optional stop and train crossing (the station has 4 tracks) and at least 3 more in its municipality.
