Beniatjar is situated 30/35 minutes inland from Gandia, with its shopping, numerous bars/restaurants/cafes, historic buildings, numerous blue-flag beaches and even its own palace. From the port of Denia, in two and a half hours you can be in Ibiza, Majorca and or Menorca.
The local village is a 5-minute drive and has local shops such as a butchers, greengrocers, banks, pharmacy, bars/cafes, a small supermarket and a small local market. This is also where you will find the nearest infant/junior schools, and then to Beniganim for their teenage education. Pobla del Duc is also only a few minutes drive.
The larger historic town of Xàtiva is 20 minutes away with all the shops etc that you would expect from a larger Spanish working town, with a buzzing nightlife, numerous banks, shops and supermarkets, even including its own castle. There is also a train station where you can be in Valencia in 30 minutes for the cost of about €9 for a day return. There is also the British school here if you need one.
Just 15 minutes inland from Xàtiva, you will also find the lovely lakes and waterfalls in Anna and Chella for those not wanting the beaches.
Only 60 minutes south of Valencia and 75 minutes north of Alicante airports respectively, both served by numerous international airlines.
