Blanes is a touristic city well known for the fireworks competition during the Santa Anna festival in summer. During the week there are more activities organized by the town hall, since it is a week of festivities in Blanes. Other places of interest are the beautiful Blanes and Costa Brava beaches and the botanical gardens, such as the 'Mar i Murtra', which covers almost 15 hectares and includes more than 4000 different plant species. The city offers a host of activities and sports clubs, including the renowned Blanes Sailing Club, one of the most important sailing clubs on the Costa Brava. The seafront promenade is extensive and has several restaurants and bars. In the whole town, there are 150 specialized restaurants, where you will find all kinds of culinary offerings: Catalan, Italian, Dutch, Greek, Chinese, etc. Blanes is situated just 1 hour from Barcelona airport and 40 minutes from Girona airport.
