Description
JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for an HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) / Occupational Risk Prevention Manager with experience in industrial construction projects, responsible for implementing, monitoring, and controlling occupational health and safety requirements, in compliance with current Spanish legislation and the company’s internal standards.
The position requires high availability for travel between different project sites across Spain, depending on project needs.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Implement and oversee the Health and Safety Plan on site
- Ensure compliance with Spanish Law 31/1995, Royal Decree 1627/1997, and other applicable HSE / PRL regulations
- Conduct risk assessments, task analyses, and manage work permits
- Organize and deliver HSE training and site inductions for company personnel and subcontractors
- Coordinate preventive activities with subcontractors and other parties involved on site
- Supervise high-risk activities (work at height, confined spaces, lifting operations, welding, etc.)
- Investigate workplace incidents and accidents and prepare the corresponding reports
- Act as the main point of contact with local authorities, occupational health services, and external entities
- Prepare regular HSE reports for project management and the client
Requirements
- University degree (Engineering, technical studies, or equivalent qualification)
- Higher Technician in Occupational Risk Prevention (PRL) certification
- At least one specialization required; all three specializations will be considered an asset
- Minimum 3 years of experience performing HSE / PRL duties in industrial construction projects
- Strong knowledge of Spanish occupational health and safety regulations
- Spanish and English: advanced level, both spoken and written
- Availability for frequent travel and coordination of multiple projects
- Strong communication skills, leadership abilities, and technical authority on site
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience in international projects or multicultural environments
- Additional certifications depending on client or project requirements
- Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors simultaneously
