Russian mafia boss wanted in Spain, arrested in Dubai

Interpol have arrested Zahar Knyazevich Kalashov, who is alleged to be the worldwide leader of the Russian mafia, in Dubai, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, earlier today.
Kalashov, who had several international arrest warrants against him for drugs and people trafficking, is thought to have been in charge of a major crime syndicate brought down a year ago in Cataluña during the operation code-named `Avispa´ (Wasp), and was wanted under a warrant issued by High Court judge, Fernando Andreu.
Interpol sources inform that Kalashov is the `godfather´ of the `Vor V Zakonem´ criminal organisation.
