A man died last night after falling onto the metro line at Drassanes station on Line 3 in Barcelona just as a train was pulling away.
Sources from Barcelona Metropolitan Transport have confirmed that the man, whose identity has not yet been established, lost his balance and fell onto the tracks in front of the train in what has been described as 'an unfortunate accident'.
As soon as the accident happened, at around 9.30pm yesterday, emergency services were called and the man was taken immediately to hospital, but nothing could be done to save his life.
