ACTOR Antonio Banderas was seen carrying an effigy of the crucifix of the La Sangre brotherhood as a warm-up for Semana Santa.
Banderas gave the traditional speech last night for the 'opening call', or pregón, of Easter Week in his native Málaga, before joining the procession today as one of the pall-bearers.
Tradition dictates that the person who makes the pregón speech be part of the team which caries the effigy of Christ from the San Juan parish church to the headquarters of the La Sangre brotherhood.
The actor will also take part in the Semana Santa processions this Easter weekend in Málaga with his own brotherhood, the Virgen de Lágrimas y Favores.
