Roads closed by flooding in Mallorca and Menorca
Two main roads in Mallorca and one in Menorca have had to be closed this morning because of the torrential rain that has fallen over the past few hours.

In Mallorca the MA-1140 from Sa Pobla to Es Murterar has been closed in the Fuente Seca area, and the MA-1032 from Puigpunyent to Galilea at the 7.7km point, whilst in Menorca the Tramuntana road has been closed in Es Mercadal.

Heavy rain has also caused a landslide that has closed one lane of the Faro de Formenter road in Mallorca at the 19.6km point.

Between yesterday afternoon and this morning the emergency services had been called out to 39 incidents related to the inclement weather, which, added to the other call-outs received since the bad weather moved in last Friday, have now topped the 200 mark.

Torrential rain has caused flooding in Alaró, Sa Pobla, Puigpunyent and Es Mercadal, with roads closed and landslides recorded as well as power cuts in San Antonio and San José.  In addiditon, 17 basements have been flooded, 23 trees have fallen and two walls have collapsed.
