American singer-songwriter Bruce Springsteen and his E Street Band will kick off their next world tour on May 13th next year at the Estadio de la Cartuja in Seville, a city they performed in back in 2009.
The tour will be used to promote Springsteen's latest album, due to be released next year and which has still not been given a title.
Approximately 60,000 tickets will be on sale for the gig, bringing in some five million euros for the city according to a statement from the Andalusian Commission for Tourism, Business and Sport.
The European leg of the tour carry on until the end of July with dates so far confirmed in the UK, where the musician and his band will play Sunderland (21st June), Manchester (22nd June), Isle of Wight (24th June) and London (14th July).
According to Springsteen's official website "practically all the music for the upcoming, as yet unnamed, album has been written and we are close to being able to confirm a release date". "The band is really looking forward to the tour", it goes on.
The Boss and his band have not toured or played live since 2009 and this world tour will be the first for the band without saxophonist Clarence Clemons, who died in June after suffering complications from a stroke.
