A SUPERMARKET customer who bought a family-sized box of Nesquik found a half-pound package of cocaine inside, according to recent reports in a regional newspaper.
The Zaragoza man bought the chocolate drink powder from a store which has not been named and, when he returned home and opened it, found a parcel inside containing 250 grams of a white substance which he thought lookes suspicious.
He took the Nesquik container and, to cover his back, his purchase receipt, to his nearest National Police station, where officers took the white powder for testing.
They confirmed later it was cocaine.
Investigators have taken fingerprints from the Nesquik box and the cocaine package and have been analysing CCTV footage from the store.
They believe the box had not had the drug in it when it came from the wholesaler, but that it had been hidden in there later for someone else in the illicit supply chain to pick up.
But the traffickers' plans were thwarted, since it did not occur to them that another, random customer might end up buying it instead.
