Right up there with the Cibeles Catwalk and Madrid Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, the 080 Barcelona Fashion promises a tempting variety among its AW17 and SS18 collections.
International fashion shows always work at least a year ahead, meaning the forthcoming spring-summer 2017 and the current autumn-winter 2016 ranges were shown last January, in the case of the 080 show.
As usual, it will take place at the Catalunya National Theatre (TNC) in Spain's second-largest city, running from Monday to Friday, January 30 to February 3 inclusive.
For this year's show, a total of 33 designers, fashion houses and brands have confirmed their presence.
Already- famous high-street regulars include whacky streetwear brand Custo Barcelona, classic womenswear firm Escorpión, the brightly-coloured ethnic bags and accessories of Lola Casademunt (third picture), wedding and communion dresses from Valencian designer Miquel Suay, and hippie-style neutral-coloured knitwear from Yerse.
New kids on the block at this year's show include 'gangsta-style' menswear designs by Anel Yaos, floaty and lacy collections by Aubergin, ultra-feminine vintage wear by Daniel Rosa, colourful statements – including chunky jewellery, leather and lace - by Pilar del Campo, and maxi-dresses and eveningwear in eye-catching single colours from this year's guest designer, ZE García.
Childrenswear labels and designers to hit the catwalk are Little Creative Factory, for the first time, showing its neutral-coloured classics with a gypsy touch, plus bright and fresh vintage lines from CND By Cóndor, and fun and colourful ranges from Bóboli.
The remaining 14 designers out of the total of 33 offer an eclectic array of collections.
They range from quality heavy-duty knit brand Aldomartins, edgy retro gear from Blame, multi-colour casuals from Brain&Beast, sleek, slimline and highly-wearable evening dresses from Justicia Ruano (first picture, taken by the 080 Barcelona Fashion organisers), and crazy-coloured casuals by Krizia Robustella.
Spectators will be wowed by flowing florals from Lebor Gabala, the lightweight, loose and mostly-white Loa range by Lidia Aguilera, mostly-black, ruched winter-warmers from Miriam Ponsa, smart, feminine casuals and smart-casual classics from Naulover (fourth picture), edgy rock and punk – with plenty of leather – by Oscarleon, brightly-coloured lingerie with some baggy dresses and maxi-skirts from TCN, goth-punk by Txell Miras, full-body warm furs (hopefully fake) from VM La Sibèria, plus elegant coats, staples and workwear with a twist – and a dash of orange – from Wom&Now (second photograph).

DRESSING down at work is healthy for the planet – during heatwaves, at least – and Spain's president Pedro Sánchez hopes others will follow his own example.
