A SEVILLA province council had to send a crane to remove the body of an obese young man from his house.
The 25-year-old, who lived in San Juan de Aznalfarache weighed 300 kilos (47st 2lb) and is said to have died from 'natural causes' brought on by his excess body fat.
Local Police were called to the house on the C/ Panamá in the Santa Isabel neighbourhood to lift the man's body by crane from his second-floor flat after his family called the social services.
He did not have any private insurance covering his possible removal in the event of his death, which means his family may have to pay the call-out fee to the crane company.
A post-mortem is due to be carried out at the Legal Medical Institute in Sevilla city.
