Xaló nightclub brawl ends in death of Villalonga man, 24
27/03/2017
A 24-YEAR-OLD man has died after being kicked in the head outside a well-known – but undisclosed – nightclub in Xaló (Alicante province).
Alejandro P. F. worked for a locally-famous cake manufacturer based in his home town of Villalonga (Valencia province), about 40 kilometres from the crime scene, and his family was said to be known by most of their immediate community.
He has a younger brother, and was described as 'a very hard-working young man'.
Mayor of Xaló Joan Miquel Garcés said a fight broke out between several young men in the club just outside the village, on the CV-750 rural highway, some time around 23.30 last night (Sunday), and emergency services received a call at midnight to say a youth was unconscious on the ground.
He had no pulse and was not breathing, and all attempts at CPR by paramedics failed.
It is thought he was killed outright in the attack.
The case, handled by the court in Dénia (Alicante province) remains sub judice, but police are reportedly searching for a man from the larger, coastal town of Benissa, close to Xaló, who is suspected of being the one who meted the fatal blow.
Villalonga town hall is flying its flags at half-mast and has declared three days of official mourning for its young resident.
