TWO men who took driving tests in another candidate's name have been arrested on the Costa Brava, according to traffic police.
The first was caught on Thursday in Sant Joan les Fonts (Girona province) when a man produced his ID before taking the practical test, and officers discovered it to be fake.
He was arrested, but the next day – Friday – another man claiming to be the 'real' candidate turned up to take the exam, and was also arrested.
Police say the second fraudster was planning to take the test on behalf of his brother, who is 14 years his senior.
Substituting candidates in an exam is a criminal offence in Spain, but both men have been released with charges.
