Hit-and-run driver mows down five policemen after jumping checkpoint
FIVE police officers have been run over in the province of Jaén by a driver who failed to stop at a checkpoint.

The hit-and-run motorist left four Guardia Civil officers with minor injuries and put a fifth in hospital when he ploughed through them on the A-4 in the town of Bailén in the early hours of Sunday morning.

He went on to crash into another parked car, although the driver and passenger were unhurt, and into two Guardia Civil Patrol cars.

Police caught up with him minutes later and found 13.5 kilos of hash hidden in the lining of the seats of his car along with €1,860 in cash and four mobile phones.

He was immediately arrested.
