The franchise firm providing ground services, Trablisa, says their workload increases more and more every year and 'brutally so', and apparently with the blessing of airport infrastructure governing body AENA.
Trablisa's union is working on trying to standardise labour relations, but says if it does not get anywhere, the twice-weekly strikes could carry on through August.
“We're very sorry about any possible repercussions suffered by passengers, but after many failed attempts, industrial action is the only solution we at Trablisa have left,” says a spokesperson for the staff committee.
