ETA terrorist dies from heart attack in jail
A CONVICTED terrorist serving a 30-year sentence has died suddenly from a heart attack in prison.

Kepa del Hoyo, 46, a member of ETA's Vizcaya Commando, was arrested in Bilbao in 1998 along with another 10 militants of the Basque terror organisation for knowingly supplying details to help with the murder of three police officers.

Del Hoyo's information had been key in the assassination of National Police officers Modesto Rico and Daniel Villar Enciso in Basauri, Vizcaya province the previous year.

He was not due for release from jail until the year 2028.

The deceased is originally from the land-locked western region of Extremadura, from the town of Almendralejo, and was serving his sentence at the prison in the nearest provincial capital, Badajoz.

He had been playing sports at the time of his death, along with other inmates, when he collapsed suddenly.

Prison medical services and paramedics carried out CPR on him, but without success.
