The victim is mostly unconscious, having been sedated, has multiple fractures but is not in a life-threatening condition, say medics.
Her sedation meant that in moments of wakefulness, she was unable to give details of her identity.
She was not carrying any documents with her name on them at the time, only her mobile phone, and nobody has contacted or visited the hospital to enquire after her.
The victim is said to be around 30 years old, and fell from the Benacantil wing of the iconic fortress at around 20.40 on Friday.
During brief lucid moments, when asked about the incident, she says she cannot remember anything.
Police believe the fall was an accident, but are keen to find out her identity so a friend or family member can be contacted.
Emergency services were called by other visitors who had to climb down on foot to where she lay, as it was very difficult to reach, and strap her to a stretcher to be carried up again.
Officers have been going through her mobile phone to see if they can reach someone who can help.
