SPAIN'S national football pools have included a Women's League match this week for the first time in history along with the other 14 First and Second Division teams.
The Atlético de Madrid FC vs Athletic Bilbao FC match, one of the biggest and most crucial in the Iberdrola League, is the 15th and final match on the list in the popular sports lottery, the Quiniela.
Until now, only the 'mainstream' teams have ever appeared on the betting slip – or those whose members are men – in the Quiniela's 71-year history.
The Quiniela ticket issued on Friday is the first, but will not be the last to feature the Women's League – major matches on October 8, November 12 and, next year, March 25 will also be added.
These are in addition to others which will appear on Sunday, March 11 – the first weekend match after International Women's Day which falls every year on March 8.
