HARRY Potter fans should make a beeline for Madrid in the next few months – the official exhibition, gradually working its way around the world, is set to land in the capital tomorrow (Saturday, November 18).
It will be open until April 2, 2018 at Pavilion 1 in Madrid's huge IFEMA exhibition and trade fair centre, which can be reached from the airport metro line.
'Fantastic beasts', wands, cloaks and other paraphernalia, all of which has been used in the series of films based upon the eight-part series released by author J K Rowling over the last 20 years, and clips from the shooting will be available to view as well as genuine scene sets.
The famous Weasley twins – Ron's elder brothers Fred and George – played by James and Oliver Phelps were at the opening presentation earlier today (Thursday) and had fun grabbing props and playing with them.
Oliver said: “I'd have liked to have kept the wand I used when filming.”
Mega-fans of the young wizard at Hogwarts' school, who are now becoming known as 'Potter-heads', have already snapped up 150,000 tickets to the exhibition, which is why it is now running until April 2 – some weeks after it was due to shut.
As well as all the displays visitors can see, the interactive part of the exhibition allows them to enter Hagrid's cabin and score a goal with the quaffle at quidditch, or walk through the enchanted forest and dodge Voldemort.
So far, well over four million fans of every age have visited the exhibition round the world.
