The Pro-Am tournament at Pula Golf Club in Mallorca featured professional players grouped with amateurs – a ratio of one to three – with a total of 18 pro golfers and 57 amateurs from all over the world involved.
Half of the teams were captained by ATP world number one Nadal and the other by the Basque ex-golfing legend.
The proceeds went to the Rafael Nadal Foundation for mentally-handicapped children, which has already set up 18 special schools in Spain, and for Olazábal's Sport Mundi Foundation which supports the United Nations High Council for Refugees (UNHCR)'s work.
By the time Nadal's team had netted its third victory, they had clocked up 175 strokes below par compared with Olazábal's 140, winning them the title.
The tennis star's teams included professional golfers Jordi García Pinto, BenoÎt Tellería, Santiago Luna, Ignacio Elvira, Pepín Rivero, Borja Virto, Emanuele Canonica, José Manuel Lara and Álvaro Quirós.
Olazábal's fellow professionals were Juan Sarasti, Lorenzo Gagli, Jesús Legarrea, Pep Anglés, Adrián Otegui, Eduardo Larrañaga, Emilio Rodríguez and Eduardo de la Riva.
The tournament is now in its fifth year and frequently attracts sporting greats from disciplines other than golf.
